Setting up heavy bars are a pain, so this is a nice, portable option for hip thrust exercises. The weight should hold up to 400 lbs. I recommend using a 45 lb. weight plate on each side and do sets of 15-25 reps with it if you are looking for a solid burn. Kettlebells are good with it as well.
